What the Tag & Title Service Does

Tag & Title is the service where you send your title and registration work to us instead of doing it yourself. You gather the paperwork and send us the request; we quote what the state will charge, file it at the tag agency in your dealership’s name, and ship the completed paperwork back to you.

It exists because a title transfer is an errand. Someone from your dealership drives to the tag agency, waits, finds out a document is missing, and drives back. That is half a day for one car.

What you get

A quote before anything is filed. You see what the state charges — title fee, registration, plate, sales tax where it applies — plus our service fee and anything you have chosen to add, before you commit.
We file it. Under a written authorization you sign once, we present the paperwork at the tag agency on your behalf.
The finished paperwork comes back to you, along with the plate and decal where the deal calls for one.

What it costs

Four things, and it is worth keeping them separate in your head:

State and county fees. These are set by the government, not by us. We collect them and pass them through.
The tag agency’s own fee, if the office we file at is a private agency rather than a county office.
Our service fee, which is a flat amount per request. It does not scale with the price of the car.
Add-ons you choose. Rush handling if you ask us to move the job up the queue, return shipping for the finished paperwork, and any work you ask for that a normal request does not include.

Setting up

There are two pieces of setup, and they work differently — one has to be finished before you can start a request, the other does not.

Your Florida registration comes first

Your dealership has to be registered with Florida and active before you can send us anything. This is the same registration that lets you issue temporary tags, so if you are already using Registrations you have it.

We need it because the very first thing a request does is look your vehicle up with Florida. Without it, there is nothing to look up and no request to build — so Tag & Title will tell you what is outstanding and point you at the page that fixes it before letting you start one.

The tag agency authorization can follow

The second piece exists because we are filing in your name and the tag agency needs to know you authorized it:

Your dealer license and business information verified.
The driver license of the person at your dealership who signs.
A signed authorization, notarized. This is the document that lets us present paperwork on your behalf.

You do not have to finish this one before sending your first request. Send it whenever you are ready and we will prepare everything right up to the point of filing — what we cannot do without the notarized authorization is actually present the paperwork at the agency. So it is worth doing early, but it does not hold your work up in the meantime.

You only do it once. Open Tag & Title and use Finish agency setup, which walks through it and lists what is still outstanding, with a link to each.

What it will not do

It does not make the state faster. We aim to have the finished paperwork back to you in about 7 days, or about 4 if you choose expedited handling — but that clock starts when we have everything we need from you, and the agency’s queue is the agency’s queue.
It cannot fix a title that has a problem — a missing signature, an open lien that was never released, a brand nobody disclosed. We will tell you what is wrong, but the correction has to come from whoever holds the document.
It is not the same as issuing a temporary tag. You still issue the temp tag from Registrations so your buyer can drive away today; the title work follows behind.
