Your Personal Information

Your profile is what My Dealer Jacket knows about you — not about your dealership and not about your customers. It is a short page, but one field on it can stop your dealership filing with the state, which is the reason to read this rather than fill it in from memory.

Open Settings, then Personal Information under Your Account.

Before you start

Nothing is required first. Anyone signed in can edit their own profile. Your dealership’s name, address and license numbers are a different page — see Adding or Removing Users for who can change what.

What is on the page

Field	Why it matters
Email	Read-only. This is what you sign in with. To change it, contact support
First name, Middle name, Last name	Your legal name. It goes on paperwork you sign and on what we file with the state
Nickname	Shown around the app in place of your first name. Paperwork still uses the legal name
Phone	How we reach you about your account
Date of Birth	Part of identifying you to the state
Driver License State and Driver License	Your own license — see below
Your government issued ID	The photo or scan of that license
Other documents	Anything else you would like us to hold on file

Changes are not saved until you click Save.

Note

The driver license fields and the ID upload only appear for dealerships that file registrations. If your dealership does not, you will not see them and nothing is missing.

Your driver license, and why it blocks filing

This is the part worth getting right. To file registration work with Florida, the state has to know who the person doing the filing is — so we need your license number, the state that issued it, and a photo or scan of the license itself.

Two consequences follow, and both surprise people.

An expired license stops your filing, not your dealership’s paperwork. When your own license lapses, registrations refuse to go through and the message names a driver license. On a screen full of customer details that reads like the buyer’s license. It is not — it is yours. Renew it, then use Send a newer copy on the Your government issued ID card and send a photo of the new licence. You do not type the new expiry date in — we read it off the document when we check it, usually within a day. Creating a Temporary Tag Registration lists this alongside the other things that can stop an issuance.

Once we have checked your license, most of this page locks. Your first, middle and last name, your date of birth, your licence number and the state that issued it all stop being editable — they are backed by a document now, and a person’s legal name is not something to be able to retype. Your nickname and phone stay editable. If one of the locked ones is genuinely wrong, contact support.

The ID card on the page tells you where the document stands — whether we have it, whether it is still being checked, and when it expires. Use Send a newer copy when you renew.

Changing the language

Language is not on this page. Click the button at the bottom of the left sidebar — it shows your dealership’s name with your email under it — and choose Language. The choice is yours alone — it does not change what anyone else at the dealership sees.
